Roundup Premium Vacc Designation Program Requirements
Minimum vaccination requirements based on cattle classification type:
UNWEANED CALVES ON COWS
For calves processed at least once at the herd of origin, two to six weeks prior to shipment.
Required Practices
- 7 or 8-Way Clostridial/Blackleg vaccine (this shot can be given outside of the 2 – 6 week pre-shipment window). For example, 7 or 8-Way at branding with remaining shots given just prior to shipment will qualify.
- IBR-BVD-PI3-BRSV respiratory viral vaccine (IBR & PI3 must be Modified Live or Chemically Altered Modified Live with veterinarian's approval). Killed 4-Way vaccine does not qualify.
- Pasteurella Haemolytica and/or Multocida.
Recommended Practices
It is recommended to administer a booster for the IBR-BVD-PI3-BRSV respiratory viral vaccine, ideally within 2 – 4 weeks of the first shot. These cattle will be represented as having 2 rounds of Modified Live Vaccine in addition to being qualified for Premium VACC. Parasite control is also recommended for enhanced immune response.
WEANED CALVES
For calves processed twice at the herd of origin, with the last processing at or near weaning. Calves must be weaned a minimum of 45 days.
Required Practices
- Two doses of 7 or 8-Way Clostridial/Blackleg vaccine.
- Two doses of IBR-BVD-PI3-BRSV respiratory viral vaccine (IBR & PI3 must be Modified Live or Chemically Altered Modified Live with veterinarian's approval). Killed 4-Way vaccine does not qualify.
- Pasteurella Haemolytica and/or Multocida – One or Two doses determined by label requirements.
- Parasite control recommended but not required.
STOCKER & FEEDER CATTLE
For ranch-raised or purchased calves processed twice with the last processing at least 14 days prior to shipment. Home-raised calves must be weaned a minimum of 60 days, and purchased cattle must be held at least 60 days.
Required Practices
- Two doses of 7 or 8-Way Clostridial/Blackleg vaccine.
- Two doses of IBR-BVD-PI3-BRSV respiratory viral vaccine (IBR & PI3 must be Modified Live or Chemically Altered Modified Live with veterinarian's approval). Killed 4-Way vaccine does not qualify.
- Pasteurella Haemolytica and/or Multocida – One or Two doses determined by label requirements.
- Parasite control recommended but not required.
